My goal as an equine photographer is to capture the connection that the horse and rider have! It's in those moments when you forget that there is a camera pointed at you, and it's just you and your horse that there is something that just comes alive in you both! These poses are a few of my favorites to help show that connection, and not fell "posed".

There are a ton of ways to capture this pose! Standing at the horses' shoulder, and gently turning their head into you for a sweet and comforting cuddle!

This pose is such a versatile pose! You can do it sitting, standing, kneeling, in front, on the side, and even from the saddle! What makes this pose a winner is the connection you can see and feel in the portrait when the horse and rider lock eyes!

I love to tell my clients to give your horse some love and to talk to them in baby talk! That results in this genuine smile and laugh that is just a heart warming moment!

As if we don't love annoying our horses enough, giving them a nice big bear hug around the nose is such a cute and goofy pose that brings out their personalities. And it also shows the patience the horse has for its crazy rider!

This is probably one of my most favorite poses to do with my clients! Its in the moment that they forget that there is a camera pointed at them and they are just thinking about walking and petting their horse that this spark ignites! Its moments like these that I love to capture! Its so real, and loving!
